Just another week in our class!

Well, we had another very productive week in our class!

We were able to use our cubes to see what subtraction actually looked like.

It was time to make some study cards for our social studies vocabulary.

Well, I would have to say that the highlight of our week was science!  We were REAL scientists on Friday.  Yes, we had our very own lab coats, name tags, goggles, and clipboards.  We were able to experiment with some UV sensitive beads to study the energy from the sun.  It was amazing to watch the kiddo's make predictions and observe the changes in the beads on Thursday.  They immediately began to talk about what kind of variables could come into play on Friday to test for the reason the beads changed colors.  We made a list of things we wanted to do and I sat out that night to collect what we needed.  Friday was a  BLAST!

These are just plain ole white beads, Ms. Hall!  What is so special about this?!

Look!

What is happening?

Let's go back in the shade and see what happens!

I made them their own lab coats and name tags so they would feel official.

My little scientists!

"Let me take note of this, please!"

Will was super excited to be doing this!

I tried my best to stand back and let them investigate on their own!

Will, this picture is just for you!

My awesome mother made us some more things for our classroom!  Thank you, Grangran!

We made some flashcards today our spelling words!  They were even color coded for short vowel and long vowel sounds.

We are finishing up our Helen Keller writing project.  I promise you are going to LOVE them!  :)

Emma enjoys some reading time.

Blockhead anyone?!

Never a dull moment in our classroom!  We are always learning and having a blast while we do it.

Ms. Hall
