Take a look!

I know that you want to see what these kiddo's have been up to the past couple weeks.  We didn't waste any time getting right to work. . .  take a look!

We were able to get right to work with our handwriting.  We have a lot to work on. . .posture, holding the pencil correctly, and most importantly - forming our letters and numbers correctly.  Give us just a few more weeks and we will be pros!

Handwriting class

Here are a few pictures of them working on their "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?" pieces.

One morning (and we will do this again) when the kiddo's came into class, I had watches made and one on each desk.  They had to record the time for me.  It was great!  Next time, the "times" will be a little harder.

Just a little center time with spelling words. . .

Let's make a globe!

And let's sing a little, too. . .

We are reading "Who Is Helen Keller?"

This little fella is amazing!  He brought this in to show us what he "invented" at home.  How smart is he?

I have the best mother in the world.  No matter what I ask her to make for us, she can do it!  We needed some extra practice on 'Greater Than / Less Than', so I asked her to make us these snazzy boards.  Aren't they great!?  The kids loved them!

What two numbers make up ten?  Let's see!

Adding endings to words.

Adding on to ten. . . working with our work mats.

Helping each other with a few new vocabulary words!

What are maps?  Yes, I know this looks odd.  Students were evaluating what a drawing looks like from an aerial view versus a ground view!

Alright, I hope you've enjoyed looking at a few pictures of our first couple weeks.  I will try to keep up with this blog and post on a regular basis.  Of course, we are BUSY learning and I may be a bit slow getting this done! ;)
